Since 2005 I’ve been licensed as a Professional Massage Therapist. I went to the Florida College of Natural Health and absolutely loved it the whole time. I knew I entered in the perfect line of work because growing up giving massages was a favorite pastime! After graduating I worked at Massage Envy for the start of my career. It wasn’t long thereafter that I wanted to get more involved in the clinical aspects of massage and so worked for a Chiropractor. Eventually, my interests grew into doing mobile massages and so I worked for an on-call massage company. It was at that point that I was ready to begin my own mobile massage business and work completely one on one with every client!
There’s no greater feeling than knowing that I’ve been able to help a person unwind, destress and also decrease their pain levels. Throughout the years I’ve been to places like Star Island, Manalapan and many other numerous amazing locations. When I work with a client I can sense their anticipation to finally get to relax and get the much needed help depending on their massage goals. Some really need focus on a shoulder that is having a lot of pain, others neck issues that just won’t go away and for many the low back causes problems as the majority of us sit throughout the day. There’s also those who play golf, tennis, run and engage in many other forms of sport or exercise. Usually there’s repetitive injuries that I have to focus on and so we work on lessening tension and increasing range of motion. Each client is unique in their massage and perhaps there’s a desire to have some relaxation mixed in with certain portions of the massage focused on working on problem areas.
Every two years Massage Therapists are required by the state to take courses called Continuing Education (or CEU’s). LMT’s get the opportunity to further sharpen ones skills and it can be a lot of fun to learn more techniques to better help clients! Over the years I’ve taken many courses, the following are a good portion of what I’ve developed further training in:
These modalities have allowed me to better treat each client and reach for a more successful outcome. A good therapist can take from a background of various knowledge, look at the body and sync together a well-thought out approach to effective care! It’s important to know that the body goes through all sorts of changes as the years move on and during that time much can happen to it.
You will reap the benefits of massage if it becomes a regular part of your life. My goal is for us to work together to take better care of your health, long-term.
Communication is key. I need to know what you're feeling, experiencing and what you're looking to gain in order to best help you. In turn, I will explain the treatment and what you can expect to gain from it.
Massage is a tool to help heal. Whether it's stress, illness or simply to pamper yourself, the benefits of massage can be life changing. I would be honored to take that journey with you.
